    I'm using Seamonkey v2.0.13. I noticed that the mail program shows 1 unread message but no such message exists. The drop down under "Go" allows you to proceed to the next unread message but when I attempt to do that, nothing happens. I have rebooted Seamonkey and my machine but can not seem to get rid of this phantom message.
    Anyone have any idea how to eliminate this false message?
    Thanks.

    I've had that happen, too. What I've found each time is that the message is there, it's just farther down in the Inbox list. I have mine set up to arrange the messages according to date, in descending order. If the sender's e-mail program has somehow lost track of time, that knocks the time-date stamp out of whack and causes the message you get to be placed lower in the listing. I recently received a message dated 1969, and it of course was at the very bottom of my Inbox list. The same thing can happen if someone is in a distant part of the world where the difference in time zones affects where the message will appear in your listing. Those are two possibilities. Does that help?

    Your experience of receiving a misdated letter has also happened to me, but in this case there is no letter at the bottom of the heap. In fact, the Go To drop down should take me to the unread letter, but it doesn't. Sounds like some kind of bug in the mail program.
    How does one report this to the Mozilla development team?

    Might not be a bug in the email program. The search function operates by certain criteria, such a timestamps in the mail headers, etc. If the timestamp is bad the Search might not work.

    I've receieved spam with intentionally mismatched timestamps or bogus timestamps and the bmessage appears waaaay dooown the list in the Inbox.

    there are a couple of options that you can do. First, click on View, Messages All. Did that work?

    If that doesn't work, then click on File, Compact Folders. Did that work?

    If that doesn't fix it, then right click on the inbox, and select Properties, in the popup, select the General Information tab, and click on the Rebuild Index button. Did that work?

    I deleted it this way.
    View->Messages->Unread.
    It brought up the single unread message in a window of its own.

    Thank you all for your help
