The file size varies. Apparently its just a cache to speed up loading for chrome (interface) and javascript.

You can delete it if you wish, it will be recreated.

    Tranquillo,

Thanks very much, I gathered as much from the reference sites but wanted to get something from a geru.

Slowly I am learning about the various aspects of NS (MOZILLA).

    Thanks again.

    Hi Captjim,

The XUL.MFL contains XUL+JS+CSS from the skin that's been "precompiled" into bytecode or something similar, to reduce skin loading times. The "FL" stands for "fastload ". It also contains data from the chrome, not only from the skin. It's safe to delete the file, as Mozilla will recreate it when you restart, or rename the file. Make certain that Netscape is closed, and QuickLaunch is disabled, before deleting the file..

Some users are reporting errors with the file, if using an nVidia GeForce video card. The problem seems to be with the nVidia driver. They "promise" it will be fixed in the next driver release. See:
    http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128961
However, I have an nVidia GeForce video card with an older driver, and am experiencing no problems, and my XUL.MFL file is only 2300 KB.

When I find the exact "why" that the file becomes as large as yours, I'll post back.

    Ramona :D
