Firefox Won't Load a Page Until Reload is Pressed

Hello all. I have got a problem that has been going on for about a week now. Whenever I click on a website, even this one, the page just loads competely blank, then, once I click reload, it appears as normal. Any ideas? This happens with almost every website.

I am using Windows 7, Firefox 3.6.10 with everything up to date.

Yeah, I've tried this but it still does it. If I go to Google, this loads instantaneously, but most things just hang there then load a blank page.

Tried using IE8, and it doesn't happen what-so-ever, however, just runs slower.

have you tried starting FF in safe mode? Close FF: File, Exit.

Now, click on the windows start button, then run and enter:

firefox.exe -safe-mode

then hit the enter key or click OK.

Do the sites work now?

Many things can cause the internet to run slowly on your PC. Have you also deleted your history?

What type of connection do you have?

You could just try a scan with Malwarebites and see if it finds anything.

Yes, the histroy, cache and cookies all got deleted. I connect via ADSL 6 MBPS. Tried starting it in safe mode, not much difference really. This is so frustrating.

It should be going pretty fast on your connection. If you cannot link any other action (like installing new software/hardware) to the time it slowed down I would suggest it is a virus or malware.

Go to the Virus and Malware forum and carefully follow the instructions. The process that you will be guided through will make quite sure your computer is completely clean.

Just going to do a scan now with the various spyware/virus/malware programs. I don't know if this is connect at all, but I keep getting a message saying that

'This computer is not running genuine Windows'

... And that I need to

'Install Windows now'.

I bought this laptop from a well established, well known PC/Laptop stockist four months ago, and the message is only starting coming up a week ago.

since safe mode didn't work, then that tells me its really not a Firefox problem, but rather something about your connection, namely, what have you got running in the background -- like firewall, av, something else? If the problem continues after your various scans, then disable the av. If the problem continues, then disable the firewall, and keep disabling things running in the background and see if any of that help.
