When I compose a message in Thunderbird and attempt to type the backward slash I get the letter W with a horizontal slash the middle of it. This does not happen on here or anyplace else, just when composing an email in TB. Even when I try to copy and paste the image here all I get is the normal backward slash.

    Thanks.

You may need to give some more info, like TB version, font used, and was there any problem in the past.
I am using TB2.0.0.25 (experimental, pretty much like 2.0.0.24), using Century Gothic, and TB3.1.2, using Lucida Sans, and I have no problem, with either.

I'm using TB 3.1.2, but in reading your response I tried something.

I was using the font Batang. When I changed to Arial or Times I didn't have the problem.

So you led me to the answer.

    Thanks so much.

So, 3.1.2 strikes again. Glad to have been able to help, but if something goes awire with TB, it is going to be with 3.1.2, but Batang font is not listed in 2.0.0.25 nor 3.1.2.
How were you able to even try to use that font?

Westside. I use TB 2.1.0 and Options > Display > Serif > shows Batang & Batangche. I've never used them so I can't say I've had any problems. Neil.
