It does this automatically and it does not matter if I type the URL or select it from a history page with the correct URL address; it still changes.
It forces me to go through the tedious motions of changing how the page is displayed. Yahoo forces me to change the the Espana version which then has an International version that does not appear on the Mexican page so I can get the USA yahoo.
There is no rhyme or reason as to how long the page will "stay" in the English (USA) version.
Without warning it will revert back (without me changing or deleting any history)
Is the problem within Firefox, the site (google, yahoo) i am going to, the Domain Name Services that reslove the URL?
It is hugely annoying ... the automatic thing reminds me too much of Microsoft.
Thanks in advance to anyone who responds with some idea (crazy or not) of how to stop this annoying behavior.

I doubt you can do much about it. What they do on their server side is that they reverse map you IP address, so they know you are accessing their site from MX, so they redirect you to the "local" site.
Now, for example in Google you can click a link that says "Go to Google.com". If you save cookies, that should be remembered, it works for me.
Open your Browser -> (obviously defaults to the, as you say google.com.mx) in that page, (you have to find it as I do not speak or read Mexican) the reference to load "Go to Google.com"or simply save this link [ http://www.google.com/ncr ] both will load google.com -> once there,
In Internet Explorer go to -> Tools => Internet Options -? then in the Home Page section click on the "Use Current" -> then click on "Apply" at the bottom -> then on OK
In Firefox go to -> Tools -> Options, and in the Main Tab in the "Startup" section click on the "Use Current Page" -> then click on OK
close the Browser you are working on and restart it which if you did this correctly, now starts the Browser at the http://www.google.com page by default and you now instead of seeing the "change to google.com" option, you will see the option to change to the Regional Google page, e.g. "Go to Google Australia" or Go to Google Mexico" in Mexican of course.
I am not sure if the /ncr at the end of the URL may work on other sites. It does not with Yahoo, and I noticed that Yahoo goes to the http://au.yahoo.com/?p=us page i.e. USA page by default. Changing the au in front of the URL address to any other language may send you to the regional site if it exists, e.g. http://de.yahoo.com/ (German page) or http://au.yahoo.com/ (Australian page)
