My Firefox 3.5.3 has a very transparent display. I am not sure when this started, but I think it was around August 6th, which may or may not be just after my up grade to 3.5.3. Previously, I had no problems.
I can clearly read the desktop though the webpage presentations. This makes Firefox unusable.
If I open IE (which displays properly) and then open Firefox, my Firefox displays properly and the other functions seem to work also, but immediately upon closing IE, my Firefox reverts to the unusable transparent display.
I have installed other browsers, Safari, Google Chrome, Netscape 8.1 and they all work indepentently, as does my IE.
I have done a complete reinstall of Firefox including the deletion of personal data and profiles and, I think, all refenences to Firefox in my computer root files when I uninstalled, but the same problem remains.
What could be the connection between IE and Firefox working or not working??
What can I do to correct this problem.??
    Is it a registry problem?
I do not enjoy using IE. I have always used Netscape until Firefox came out and I want to continue with Firefox, if I can get this problem corrected.

    Solution found

I restored my registry back to a point in July.
Did another clean completely uninstall and reinstall of Firefox 3.5.3.
Firefox seems to be working now but my registry cleaner software says I have 193 registry errors which I hesitate to clean for fear what might happen.

I have heard strange problems with Firefox, but never the one you have. Is IE your default browser, or what.
I have FF3.0.014 as default, but can open 3.5.3 any time I want, and it looks fine.
As for the Registry Errors, it may depend on what they are. Your software should allow you to restore such keys. I, routinely, do a Registry Scan, and, rarely, get fewer than 70 errors. I, never, hesitated to delete them, and never had a problem.

I restored my registry back to a point in July, cleaned the 193 registry errors showing on my registry cleaner (most of those related to a uninstall of old netscape browsers) and now Firefox seems to be working fine. Quite a relief!!!!
