I have Firefox as the Default Browser, in Win XP. I use msn for my email.

When I click on an email link (at a website), msn opens up in ie. Why does it do this if Firefox is set as default?

    How can I fix it?

    Thank you,
    Chris.

It happens with some websites, which are hard coded to open in IE. Not surprising with MSN, which is from Microsoft. The only way around is to use the IE Tab add-on . But, you must plan ahead, using the IE mode, if not sure.

Are you using it with MSN? I can do Windows Updates with IE Tabs.

My son sent me a craiglist link, and it opened in Firefox. I tried contacts with several people. I was suggesting that you use IE Tab, left clicking on the icon to switch the rendering engine.

OK, I get it. I right clicked the bar, then custom. I see the ietabs icon. I dragged it to the bar and now I have the icon.

    Thanks for the help,
    Chris.

Was thinking on this. I remembered, "Start ", "All Programs ", "Set Programs access and Defaults."

Switched from, "Use my Current Web Browser" (Firefox) to, "Mozilla Firefox."

If I close it, then open it back, it's back to, "Use Current Web Browser."

Keeps switching back. Anyway to fix it?

    Thank you,
    Chris.

Custom settings? Or some of the other settings. With Microsoft Windows settings, IE would be default.
