Upgraded to FF 3.5.2 and all my bookmarks are gone.
    Now what?

Check your FF profile directory for a file called bookmarks.bak. If it's there, rename it to bookmarks.htm and import it.

    Hi chas berlin,

Also bookmarks maybe labeled with extension *.json and are dated. At least this is with a current account. Firefox makes backups with an established account (at least 5 dated I believe) usually accessible via the toolbar>bookmarks>organize, "import/backup" is part of the organization option on the toolbar. If you have backup *.json they may be listed. Or if found, during a file search before hand, you can browse to them. If not you can import html from there. see:
    organize bookmarks

I have some bookmarkbackups made with both extensions scattered about my computer. Default is:
    C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\we3x1upk.default\bookmarkbackups

Other than the above this may help:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Lost+Bookmarks?style_mode=inproduct&s=bookmarks

the whole firefox search database on bookmarks:
    bookmarks

    That was it.
    Thx SO much!

    (Forgot your name.)

What about reverting to a prior version? Is there something built into FF for this, or do I have to reinstall the older ver? Some of my add-ons are no longer compatible w/ ver 3.5.2.

No good reason why a previous version would turn up the bookmarks. The bookmarks are in the Profile. But, you can continue using 3.0.x, which may have all your add-ons. I use both 3.5.2 and 3.0.13, with two different profiles.

    I reverted (3.0.13) so I could use my add-ons (which were incompatible w/ 3.5.2)
