Not sure if anyone else has had any issues lately with Firefox crashing whenever you log into your google mail account?

I have had this problem for the last couple of weeks but in the last 4 days i've pinpointed it down seemingly to google mail. I can open up firefox and it logs onto my homepage with no problems whatsoever, i can click on any other links and even access google search and it doesn't crash. Yet whenever i open up google mail it will open up and then a couple of seconds later just browser just crashes to the reporting tool and if i choose to restore a previous session it just crashes again

I have done a virus scan and also done a spyware scan using Spyware Doctor and that all came back negative and i've even gone back to using IE to see if it happens on that, it doesn't. I am at the moment using Google Chrome which again doesn't have any issues loading google mail, its just firefox that crashes.

I can live without firefox but its just **** annoying and was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem with firefox 3.0.10?

If your FF has the HTML Validator plugin, disable it for mail.google.com.
    You're not alone.

Close Firefox. Go Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox, click on Mozilla Firefox (safe mode). Same thing?

    Hi,

I have start with safe mode and so far I don't see any crash! I will keep you updated. Say if FF doesn't crash after I use safe mode, what does it mean?

It means, some add-on is the most likely culprit.

Start Firefox in normal mode, disable all add-ons, except for one.
    Restart Firefox.
If it's running fine, enable second add-on. Restart Firefox....and so on.
    Most probable culprits - toolbars.

I'm crashing on Pay Pal unless I delete all cookies & cache. No problems with Google mail, though.

Crashes occur when certain websites make changes, or did not make changes. And, as broni said add-ons (extentions), are more often than not the culprits.
I don't use Paypal nor Google Mail, so I can't verify the problem. As for the problem reported by edmund085, it is quite different. Since Thunderbird and Seamonkey crash, newsgroup mail must be involved. Not sure how firefox comes into the picture. I have never had any consistent crashes, but can't verify the problem as not enough details are given.
And, TonyT link gave me a blank page.

I had a lot of crashes on two computers on 3.0.10. No crashes since 3.0.11.

All my crashes were on my ISP's web mail.

I may have solved my crash problem where my ISP's web mail, which I use all day at work, would crash the browser, including 3.5.

My friend and I were out hiking. He is a software engineer. He commented that our ISP's web mail seems to launch the Java applet. This is not true in IE or Safari. So, he suggested disabling Java. I did that today. I ran that site for 10 hours, refreshing, opening email, deleting, everything and anything that I could do.

    The site never crashed once.

I spent a normal work day using FF3.5 with Java disabled, The only time I needed Java was for a Secunia online scan. I enabled it for that scan, ran the scan, did the fixes, ran the scan again, and then disabled Java.

Today I visited my bank, my credit card company, a whole host of sites. No need for Java on any of them for what I did.

So, maybe the thing is finished.

thanks for all the responses, since 3.5 got released all is working correct again now, so must of been something to do with Google altering some coding or something like that. Anyway am happy now :)
