I use a program called market trader with etrade. Recently, instead of just launching from the webpage, it puts a "bali-launch" icon on my desktop which I then have to double click and then it launches. The etrade technical support was unable to figure it out. They suggested I uninstall firefox and reinstall it.
Sounds like there my be a quick fix if anybody has an idea.

Can you give a link? The problem is unusual, and there is no way that it can be checked with the information provided. Which version Firefox, and Java.

fire fox is 3.08, Java 6 update 11. I'd have to give you my login if I gave you the link. It's not a big deal, I can just do the extra step or use explore.

    bernyx,

Install the IETab Add-on, and use it to access the page. Let us know if this helps.

I wound up uninstalling and reinstalling firefox and now it works fine without the IE tab. When going to launch the program a box opens and asks whether to open with java webstart or save file. Some how it must have got to default to save file. I think it could have been changed in the applications tab for future reference.

    bernyx ...

Update 13 is the latest update to Java 6 (build 1.6.0_13-b03). If you haven't updated Java since you posted your info on the 3rd, you might want to do so at your earliest convenience.
