I have a client using TB, latest version. He can add an image to a new message or a reply, the image is visible in the Compose window, but the image never gets sent w/ the message.

Even the copy in Sent folder does not have the image in the message.

I have checked his settings, same as the settings in my TB, and the problem persists.

    Any likely causes?

    Windows Firewall: disabled
Norton AV: scan outbout messages: disabled

    TonyT,

Is your client using the "Insert" feature to include the image in the message?

Have her/him double-click on the image to open the Image Properties dialog. Then check "Attach this image to the message" to ensure that it is checked.

This will ensure that the message goes out with the image actually downloaded and attached to the message rather than just including a reference to the remote content.

If the image is being inserted into the body of the message - I would also make sure the message is not being sent as plain text only.

I would click on OPTIONS - FORMAT and choose "Plain and Rich (HTML) Text "

    My 2 cents, Ray

I have tried Insert Menu > Image > Browse for image > don't use alt txt > local image display dandy in the Compose window. But...when the message gets sent, the progress bar stops at about 1/3 the way and the message gets sent w/out the image.

I have adjusted his settings and he can send an image as an attachment but cannot send a image in the message inline.

Not using remote images, I have those disabled for him as I do in my TB.

This works for him doing what you suggested.

I believe the problem persisted after I changed his TB settings always send as html because all of the address book entries had previously been set to plain text instead of Unknown or HTML.

All of mine are set to Unknown as I never import an address list until after I config the program.

    sending in HTML in TB

Awesome! Setting the mail properties for recipients as "unknown" did the trick and keeps one from going to "options > format > send in HTML" every time you send a message with an inline picture! This was very annoying and seemed unnecessary, but I just could not figure out how to work around it. I ran a test with my own account email and it seemed to work. Now, if my recipients can receive these attachments inline (since I assigned all their properties to "unknown "), without reassigning the format again, it will be a beautiful day. Thanks so much!
