Smile New Mail Icon Retrieving

I am using thunderbird 2.0.0.14.

Whenever I recieve new mail in my hotmail account, thunderbird shows a new mail icon, but it does not automatically download the new mail.

I am using thundertray. I have to maximize thunderbird and click "Get Mail" in order to download it and that is kind of annoying.

How can I have it automatically download my new mail and keep the new mail icon when new mail arrives?

sniper9228,

Are you asking how you can get Thunder-Tray to automatically download new mail and keep the new mail icon when new mail arrives?

Have you checked all the options in the program, and is there a "read me" file, or "Help" file within the program? I don't see anything on any of the Thunder-Tray sites that indicate it will do what you want. I've looked at these four sites:
Thunder Tray - Minimize and hide to tray any application System tray launcher for Thunderbird.
How To Get Tbtray Add On | Thunderbird-Tray reviews and free downloads
Thunderbird-Tray
SourceForge.net: Bugs

You might be better served to ask the author of the program your questions: tbtray@sniperbeamer.de

The email address may not be current, but at least you can give it a try. I will install the program and use it in a test Profile on Thunderbird, and see what happens. This program doesn't seem to have been updated since 2005?

Worthless

I should think before posting this thread.

Thank you for telling me the options. This thread is useless . I already found my solution. I ticked automatically download to messages. We will see if it works and I will report back.
