When I click on Tools/Add-ons/Extensions there is an item that is not compatible with Firefox3. There were several others but I was able to remove them. This one has a button to uninstall just as the others did but it will not uninstall. None of the buttons will allow me to do anything. (Options, Enable or Uninstall)

I even checked the Mozilla folder on my hard drive but could not see anything.

Any ideas how to get rid of this entry?

Three guesses and the first two don't count.

It is Think Advantage Password Manager. And that is really strange because it states that it is version 2.0 but I have 3.0 installed on my PC. I can NOT get rid of it and I want it out of there.

I've now considered uninstalling FF 3 and cleaning out the profiles. I remember when I had all of those problems several months ago there was an additional configuration file that I needed to get rid of. Bet you remember where that is. <G>

    Pat,

This extension is from IBM, and not from Mozilla. It is listed as a problematic extension here:
Problematic extensions - MozillaZine Knowledge Base

Exactly what happens when you highlight the extension and click on "Uninstall "? Do you get an error, or does the Uninstall tab not work?

What happens if you click on the "Disable" tab?

I would try this suggestion: ThinkVantage Password Manager Extension

I'll check out your suggestions and NOTHING happens when I highlight and click either of those options. They are faded rather than bolded in the first place.

I wish I knew why everything was an ordeal when I have a problem.

    Thanks.

    Ramona,

I continue to get a time out on the following link:http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions

I tried searching the KB but wasn't sure which issue you were referring to.

Can you give me another clue? I'll keep trying.

    Thanks.

I got a timeout attempting to get mozillazine.org. They are, probably, down.
If you see anything which is grayed out, and you can't find anything on you program nor the profile, forget about it. I have AVG Search which is not compatible with anything. Uninstall is grayed out, and so are the Options, although I can enable or disable. Where is it? It beats me, but it is not doing a thing.

I finally was able to access the link you sent. Wasn't much help. I've been reading everything I could pull up on the Lenovo site. Many of their posts mentions Client Security Solutions. Well, guess what? I don't have that folder and have to find out why.

I'll let you know if I ever get this figured out.
