    FF3, Vista.
It does happen when I try to install SOME new add-ons.
    Two scenarios:
    1. When clicked on "Install ", I'm getting dreaded 203 error. I try 2-3 more times, and installation apparently goes through without 203 error, but...
    2. I'm asked to restart FF to complete installation. I restart, but when I check newly installed add-on, it notes: "This add-on will be installed after FF restart ".
I restart again, same thing - not functional, yet, asks for restart. Sometimes, I just exit FF, start it again, and add-on is functional, but sometimes, like tonight, I installed two updates, and no matter what I do, it still says, it'll be functional after restart.

I don't use ZoneAlarm or CA Firewall. I use Comodo.

    I tried to rename:
    extensions.ini
    extensions.cache
    extensions.rdf

but when I do so, my all add-ons are missing from Add-ons list.

Short of creating new profile, are there any other options to try?

    broni,

Assuming that you have tried the solutions suggested here:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to..._-_Firefox#Unexpected_installation_error_-203

Do you have Nightly Tester Tools installed, and if so does that help in any way?

What you might do is try a test Profile, and see if the problem goes away. Also take a look at your NoScript, if you have that add-on to ensure the page is allowed.

    EDIT:

Have you tried deactivating Comodo? Wouldn't hurt, and it might help...

Which add-ons are you not able to install?

Hmmm, it looks like it may be Comodo problem. I switched Comodo status to "installation mode ", tried couple of add-ons, and they installed with no problem.
I hope, that's it. I'll report on any changes.
Thanks, Ramona, one more time. Luv ya :D

Comodo wasn't a culprit, after all.
I kept receiving the above error, even with Comodo switched to installation mode.

    Renaming:
    extensions.ini
    extensions.cache
    extensions.rdf
files didn't work for me, because, if I did so, my whole add-ons list was missing (I believe extensions.rdf must be responsible).

Finally, I recreated extensions.cache file only, and that was it.
No more errors, and add-ons install with no problem.

I read elsewhere (I can find and post the link if you like) that the problem is ThreatFire. Turn it off.

I'm gonna monitor add-ons installation for couple more days, and see, if my solution works.
If not, I'll try ThreadFire thing.
    Thanks.
