This is weird. Downloaded and installed Firefox on my Windows XP SP2 computer. Everything appeared normal until I tried to open program. NOTHING!!
will get hourglass for about 5 seconds, then nothing happens. Tried re-installing a couple of times. Please HELP. I can't take IE any longer.

Did you ever had Firefox installed on your computer? Did you get your settings from which program, and how? Uninstalling and reinstalling the program has, rarely, any effect. There may be something wrong in the profile, which is installed in a different location. Not knowing the past history is not so easy to diagnose the problem. Look at starting firefox in safe mode . Another issue could be with the parentlock file
