When I try to open firefox, it asks if I want to start a new session or restart the last session. It doesn't matter which one I choose, nothing happens. I have downloaded the lastest version (2.0.0.14) and nothing happens. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled right from the mozilla website and still nothing happens. I am running XP Pro and haven't had this hapen before. BTW IE opens without a problem.

    Thanks for any help.

    eyeguy23,

Welcome to the board! The only time this has happened to me was when I had two Firefox programs running at the same time. Check with a Ctrl-Alt-Delete and see if Firefox is listed twice. If so, end both of them and try again.

    Welcome to the Forum, eyeguy23!

    eyeguy23,

    Try this:

Disable all session saving in about:config by setting: browser.sessionstore.enabled to false

Type about:config in the Location Bar
    Press Enter
In the "Filter" blank field, type: browser.sessionstore.enabled
Double click the "true" setting, which will toggle the setting to "false"

Let us know if this helps.

Under Processes, there was only one firefox.exe running (probably the one that won't open) so I deleted it and tried to open firefox again, but got the same result, the computer sounds like it is starting it up, but nothing appears.

It worked!! Thank-you very much! Do I have to reset "false" to "true" or is it OK to leave it on "false "?
