In Thunderbird, when I hit "Reply" to respond to an email message, the text from the message I am responding to appears on top of where I would compose my message. How do I get it to appear below without having to hit Enter several times and then putting the cursor on the top of the page? I looked thru the preferences but do not see how to fix this problem.
A second question: I send out an email to about 70 recipients who are shown in my outgoing emails as "Bcc" so no one sees the others email addresses. If I made one of those addresses "Cc" would that recipient see all the email addresses? I think so, but am not sure. I want to do this so I can get the list of recipients and the email into my laptop Thunderbird program from my desktop. I guess I should just try it :)
    Thanks.

    1. No different than it has been with previous mail program. Account name|Composition and addressing|the top has a setting to deal with composition. The drop down for automatically quote can be changed as you wish. In fact, I make that change as soon as I get a program going.
    2. I would think that no one see the e-mail addresses, but, having, never, used Bcc, I would not know. You can, always send the CC message, separately.

    Bob,

The setting for "Reply Above Message" is here:

Tools | Account Settings | Composition & Addressing

The second option is where you change the setting for replying above, or below the quote.

For your mailing list: any recipients can see all e-mail addresses specified in the To: and CC: fields. No recipients can see any e-mail address (other than their own) in the BCC: field.

I was a bit sloppy in giving the path, and that which was given by Ramona, i.e.
is correct if one has only one account. However since I have anywhere between eight and ten, the correct path is: Tools | Account Settings | accountname| Composition & Addressing
I say accountname when it can be the type of mail account, like pop.isp.net, etc., or renamed, like I do to: ISP, ISP2, etc.

For your information, I tried sending an email to myself both as a "To" as well as "Cc" with many other "Bcc" recipients. I only received one email marked "To" and "Cc" and none of the Bcc recipients were shown. Maybe if I hadn't addressed it as "To" but simply "Cc" the "Bcc" recipients might have shown?

    Hi Bob,

"To" or "Cc" makes no difference, as far as I can tell ... the "Bcc" recipients will never appear in a received message, but they will appear in your sent message.

Your "Bcc" recipients should see only Undisclosed-Recipient, unless you also address your message "To" yourself or others, in which case they will see only the names and/or email addresses of the "To" recipients .
