    Hi,
I've looked for solutions and have tried the following method:
    "c:\Documents and Settings\[your XP user name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles" and then "backupbookmarks "

But this didn't work because when I went into profiles, there wasn't a backupbookmarks. There was just one folder: "fdd23kl8.default "

I don't know much about computers, but one of the other problems I ran into trying this solution is that after going to "c:\Documents and Settings\" there wasn't a folder with my "XP user name." Instead, there was only "Administrator," "All Users," and "Owner. "

None of these three folders had an "Application Data" folder. It was only after I did a "search" for "bookmarks" that I found "c:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\fdd23kl8.default "

So I'm guessing that the "Application Data" folder was hidden in the "Owner" folder.

I just checked: It looks like I have the 1.0.7.0 (it says it was created in october 2005). I don't know if this information helps

Either way, I cannot find the backupbookmarks folder. If you have any advice, I would appreciate it!

My hidden folders in WinXP are in a folder with my name. I suppose that nothing was done when firsting WinXP, Owner would be a generic name.
The name of the folder is bookmarkbackups, and not backupbookmarks.
If you did not go into the default folder, but relied on a Search, you could have not found the folder, as the entry was incorrectly spelled. The desired folder would be in fdd23kl8.default
