What is your version? You can tell by clicking on Help|About Mozilla Firefox.
The current version 2.0.0.4 came out on 5-15.
I, personally, have unchecked the box in my Tools|Options|Advanced|Updates|Firefox. Typically, a few days after issue of an update, selecting Help|Check for Updates, should give you the incremental update, i.e. it does not require a full download.
In most cases, it may be desirable, though not necessary, to uninstall the old version, and install the current one from the website

What do you mean by download and reload? Download refers to the file which must be installed to be used. Reload? I am not sure. Are you downloading, and then installing the program? I must be missing something.

My System

GamerRoy,

I would download the full install from the Firefox site:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

Uninstall Firefox using Add/Remove Programs

Also delete the Mozilla Firefox folder located here:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
Backup your plugins folder first, if you have plugins installed

Reboot your PC

Now install Firefox 2.0.0.4
Replace the new plugins folder with your backup

Your Profile will remain untouched by the uninstall/install.
