I had previously posted an inquiry about how to remove NoScripts, an add-on, to SeaMonkey. There did not seem to be a clear answer. Now I realize there is a bigger problem. I was recently notified while using Firefox that NoScripts has an update - which I applied to Firefox without a problem. There does not seem to be a way to do the update on SeaMonkey, or is there a way I do not know about? I suppose I might have to uninstall NoScripts and then reinstall a newer version that has the update incorporated? But as I said in the first sentence, uninstalling on SeaMonkey is a problem!
Maybe those who are improving SeaMonkey could take note of this dilemna and make the add-ons work like they do in Firefox. That would be a great help.
Ramona, please forward this to them. Many thanks and Merry Christmas!

    Bob,

There is a way to uninstall NoScript, altho it does require adding Extension Manager, perhaps you missed this in the other thread:
    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=59939

    From: http://noscript.net/faq#qa2_3

If you're using Mozilla or SeaMonkey, there's no "official" mean to uninstall an extension, because there's no Extension Manager. However, you can still use the ExtensionManager Extension (funny, ah?) that should do the trick.

You can make your suggestion to the author here:
[ext] NoScript 1.1.4.5 - faster and neater. His name is Georgio Maone.

I wrote to Giorgio and this was his response:

"doesn't a plain install over the old version work? it should "

    Then I asked:

Does the installation involve any registry modifications?

    He responded:

"If you mean the Windows registry, then none at all.
It involves XPCOM component registration, though, which means you need to reinstall NoScript everytime you install or upgrade SeaMonkey (this limitation doesn't affect Firefox). "

So, does anyone out there have the nerve to install the newer version of NoScripts over an older version to check it out in SeaMonkey? Please post back after you have done it to let us know of your success or demise!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

    Hi Bob,

I first installed NoScript 1.1.4.5.061206 (December 06, 2006) and then installed
NoScript 1.1.4.5.061221 (December 21, 2006) over the older version. I have been to numerous sites setting options and all is well...

If I have any problems you will be the first to know, but I really don't anticipate that I will.

Happy New Year to you too!
