    Hi,
I have Thunderbird 1.5.0.4 with XP Home, SP2 and MS updates thru June, 2006. When I open up an email from Drafts folder and it contains a misspelled word, often but not always, the misspelled word is not displayed but has blanks with the red underline. Also some text before and after the misspelled word is not displayed.

When I click around somewhere close to or on the the text not displayed, it becomes visible. I have also tried sending the email without getting the text visible and the text shows up correctly in the Sent folder.

I searched on mozillane as well as bug report but did not see anything like this. Possibly I missed something. Any ideas and solutions would be most appreciated as it is frustrating.

    Thank you,
    Ken

    Ken,

I am unable to duplicate what is happening to you with the "Spell as you type" feature. I did three searches at Bugzilla (600) bugs, and saw nothing exactly as you described.

You may very well have discovered a new bug, so if I were you I would read this first. Then follow through with the advice to see if anyone has reported a bug for this problem here.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I will need to document exactly how this works for me and test on another system. I am preparing to leave for two weeks vacation so I will have to leave this open until after I return.
    Thanks,
    Ken

    Ken ...

I can't duplicate your problem, either. Do you have any extensions installed that might be related?

    Ramona ...

Both of your links open the same page.

    Ken,
I have the same system as yours, probably with a few more recent Windows updates. I wrote an e-mail, with some errors entered on purpose. The words were underlined and visible.
I would, definitely, look at some extention, as the possible source of the problem.

You were right. I removed a dictionary extension and now I cannot recreate the problem.
    Thank you so much,
    Ken

You're welcome, and thanks for the feedback. I'm glad your problem is solved.
