accessing thunderbird via firefox?

I have thunderbird as my primary email account, and was curious as how to access it from within firefox, is there a way? In IE it was simple to link Outlook Express to the IE. How do I place an icon and link to thuderbird from firefox?
thanks,
coadman

My System

coadman,

Click on "Tools | Read Mail" or "Tools | New Message"

OR

Right click anywhere on the Navigation Toolbar, and select "Customize"

Then drag the Mail icon to the Toolbar, and click "Done"

Note that this feature has been present in all Firefox builds 1.5.0.4, and earlier ones, but, for reasons unknown it will be gone in the new developing Bon Echo, now at 2.0a3, and Minefield, at 3.0a1.
I have been able to get send mail via the FirefoxMenuButtons extention, but Check Mail is kind of difficult to do.
