    Hello Everybody,
Two days ago I tried downloading my e-mail in NetNav 7.2 using XP2he from mail.sprintmail.com and got 'Could not connect to server mail.sprintmail.com: the connection was refused.' I've been using NAV 2004 mail scanning and AVG. About 3 months ago AVG stopped connecting to my mail server. I think it has something to do with Spybot Tea Timer. Ok, so I used Mail Washer to get rid of spam and it connected/disconnected instantly. Checked postings here and tried rebooting computer and turning off NAV mail scaning, didn't work. Went through some results on google for 'netscape connection refused' and found "obscure" reference: 'That error message means that port 80 on the web server is not responding to TCP connect requests'. Great. Pinged server, ok. Thinking "obsurely" I checked the Edit/Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings.../Server Settings for the umpteenth time looking for anything and decided to uncheck Server Settings/Use Secure Connection (SSL). Bingo. Connection was instant and all e-mail downloaded with NAV mail scanning on. Rechecked SSL and connection refused again. I would like to download my e-mail with SSL on. Any ideas?

I think that you cannot just check or uncheck the settings. I don't know how you ISP works, so I suggest that you contact them about this. You may have to use a different port.
