    Ramona,
I need a recount, i.e. a way to change my vote, or you may change it. I did not enter the OS, which is XP Home.

    Ramona,

You had me a little freaked out when I first came back to this poll. I was sure that I had already posted and voted. Then I realized that you changed the voting options on me. That was pretty sneaky. :D My votes included both my XP and 98 systems. Full Install file downloads and all Add/Remove programs show as Firefox 1.5.

It does not look like you can vote twice ( or over 1.3 times) for different OS, if you you see only one italicized. And, I don't see any way to edit (thus my previous post). You see nine votes, and only eight, total, for the OS. I missed selecting my OS, and I can't correct that. But, so far the trend continues. The Autoupdate produces 1.5.0.1 in the Add/Remove, while a clean install yields 1.5.
But, there is no way to tell if the OS had anything to do with it, the way that the questionnaire is set up.

Until after I voted forgot I installed on TWO computers ... totals as follows

Did you install Firefox using the online auto update feature? - XP and w98SE.
Is Firefox listed in Add/Remove as Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.1? -- XP and w98SE.

Ramona, if you can stuff the ballot box, ;) the above two questions should also credit w98 column. I only chose XP when I placed my votes.

Lucky me! I got to check every box except the one for Win98. :D

Based on my own experience, I would have to concur with Westside, but I don't know that his statement is true for all installations.

In my own case, I have two XP computers; I let FF update itself on my desktop computer, and Add/Remove shows 1.5.0.1, with a size of 17.27MB. On the other hand, I did a clean install on my laptop, but Add/Remove shows 1.5, with a size of 17.73MB. Go figure!

    Ramona ...

I don't really know what your poll is intended to show (should Westside's statement not apply for all installations/upgrades), as you don't allow for any corrrelation between installation method and the version shown in Add/Remove. Also, as I write this there are 29 votes in the Installation section, and 28 in the Add/Remove and OS sections. ???

    Jim,

I am aware of the discrepancy. I messed up the totals when I added the Windows 98 install for Dennis L. Not to worry, I will try and correct it, if I can...

    Short explanation:

First i used the auto-update. Didnt work to good.
Second i pulled the full package for FF and did a clean install - A-OK now.
Under both conditions above, add/remove listed it as mozilla firefox 1.5

The results are consistent, so far: Clean Install shows 1.5 in the Add/Remove; while auto update shows 1.5.0.1. Except that they don't add up.
I don't see any correlation associated with with the operating systems.

    Westside,

I added the OS in order to disprove the significance.

Ramona, we have 30 installations, but, 29 Add/remove and Operating systems.
We need, either one more Add/Removes and OS, or one fewer installations.
Anyway a total of 107.15% installation, and 103.57% of the other two parameters. The math has gone crazy.
