NOT loading messages in Tbird

I think there is a way to have avoid Thunderbird getting messages on loading.
But I can't find it.

To set when thunderbird checks for messages or not! open TB. click on your account name, then in the window that opens, under accounts, click on view settings for this account, Then server settings, you should find what you are looking for! If I understand your post correctly
