can't resize composition window in netscape 4.7 email

hi, i read the post about resizing (did a google search and found a question/response in this forum), but here's what happens to mine:

when i click on New Message, nothing appears except the little tab on my task bar. when i right click on this, a menu pops up with "move, size, minimize, maximize and close". when i do maximize, it fills the whole screen up and i cannot move or resize.

does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix. when i left work friday everything was ok.

thanks, karen.

Welcome to the Forum, khgulledge!

Karen,

Is this the thread which you reference: emails

If so, did you try the workaround, and it didn't work? What happens if you click on "move, size, or minimize"? Have you tried grabbing a corner of the Mail Window with the cursor and trying to reize the window?

when i click on New Message, a tab appears in my taskbar area that says Composition. clicking on this doesn't open the composition window. when i right click, i get the menu, and i choose Maximize, which does what it says. i have tried to grab the corners, but my cursor doesn't seem to get to it. i mean, it (cursor) doesn't become a double arrow indicating that you are able to resize.

i've tried resizing my desktop, this doesn't work either. clicking restore doesn't help. i'm baffled as to how to fix this!

would making a new profile solve the problem?

thanks for any help!

Karen,

I would certainly try a new profile, and see if that eliminates the problem. Your Netscape Version is incredibly outdated, but perhaps you have no control over deciding which version to use.

i created a new profile this morning and that fixed the problem.

yes, i know it is very old, but, as you stated, i have no control over this!

thanks.

this link may take you to the workaround:

Karen,

Thanks for the feedback, and yes, the newer mail component of 7.2 is a huge improvement over Communicator's Messenger.

Karen,

With Netscape 7.2, I don't think you can stop the flag from waving. It's like the Energizer Bunny....
