    My OS is Window XP-Home
I have set up the chosen "Home page" at Preferences/Navigator, however it open to "Netscape search ". Only after click to Home at toolbar then it open to my chosen home page.
How can I fix this problem.
    Many thanks.

    ltchang,

In that same Preference window have you also enabled the radio button here:

"Display on Navigator startup: Home Page "

Thanks for your suggestion. I checked (enable) Radio, my home page didn't show up. I checked all, still same no home page.
What should I do next. Thanks.

    ltchang,

Would you mind giving me the link for your Home Page, and let me see if I can get it to work?

    Thanks,

    Ramona

You are looking in the wrong place. You are working with the Select buttons part, instead of the Home Page part. You should open the page, and then click on the "Use Current Page ".

    ltchang,

I went to Edit | Preferences | Navigator
    Under "Display on Navigator Startup
    Enabled: Home Page

    I inserted this link: http://my.yahoo.com/p/d.html?v
in the Home Page "Location" field
    Exited Netscape

Opened Netscape, and it opened to "My Yahoo ".

If you are doing all the above, it should be working.

    Thanks.
I have tried many times the steps you suggested. It still would not open to my home page.
    Any idea what's wrong.

    ltchange,

Are you by chance using a Theme other than the default?

    ltchang,

Try this, and see if you can get Netscape to open to the desired Web Page:

Right click the Netscape Desktop shortcut, and select "Properties "
To the end of the command line add one space, and then type this address, or copy it from here and paste it to the command line: www.my.yahoo.com/p/d.html?v

The command line should now look like this:
    "C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\Netscp.exe" www.my.yahoo.com/p/d.html?v

    TO: Ramona,
I add the line to Target and Netscape 7.2 just flash and would not start.
Then I add the line to "Start In ", and same just flash and no start.
By the way here are two more things.
    1) When I use Netscape 7.2 to download files, it would not open the but just save.
    2) I download/set up Firebox 1.0 and it would not open.
    Any ideas.
    Many thanks.

    ltchang,

None of the Gecko browsers, including Firefox will open an *.exe file. Mozilla says:
Before you installed Netscape 7.2, did you have Netscape 7.1 on your PC, and if so, did you install Netscape 7.2 over 7.1?

If so, this could be the problem, and you should uninstall Netscape 7.2 using Add/Remove. Once uninstalled, then also delete the 1.7.2_2004080415 folder, located here:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\mozilla.org\GRE\1.7.2_2004080415

Backup your Plugins folder, then delete the entire C:\Program Files\Firefox folder.

    REBOOT THE PC

    Reinstall Netscape 7.2

If the above is not applicable, then I would create a new Profile.

For Firefox not starting, see this page: Browser Will Not Start Up

I have followed exactly the steps you have instructed.
Its no good, still the same old way - would not open home page when 7.2 started. But still will open home page when click Home at toolbar.
I have three computers, the other two using OS Win XP-Pro (no SP2) work fine. They open to home page when started.
Look forward to your continue help to resolve this mysterious problem.
Do you think format HD will help. How much trouble will it be.
Or, replace WinXP-Home with Pro. How to do it step by step.
    Thanks very much.

I would never bother formatting the HD for anything like this. But I get you site as an addition tab, and select in my Prefs Open group.
If I was getting your problem, I would have never seen the correct webpage.
It is the one with the Garfield cartoon, correct?
