Question trouble opening http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx

Is anyone else having / experiencing problems opening http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx

I can open the page but when you hit the link for "Search the Knowledgebase", neither Mozilla 1.7 or Foxfire 0.9 opens to the correct page. Infact the page basically just refreshes.

However, if you open the page in IE and click the link, the next page is a search engine for the KB site.

I have even opened this site in IE, clicked the link for the KB search engine, and when the site comes up in IE, cut-n-paste back over to Mozilla. When you hit enter, your back to the first page.

Very strange.

My System

hey 24jedi...

Ain't that a kick in the pants. I just tried it and I'm getting the same results as you with Firefox 0.9.

But with Mozilla 1.6 (yeah I know 1.7 is out) when I try to open the page http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx it goes to a Google page http://www.google.com/search?q=http%...utf-8&oe=utf-8 where I click on the "Microsoft Help and Support" link and that finally takes me to the page. I then get the same results as you.

One thing I did notice was that if I just go to http://support.microsoft.com/ then click on the "Search the Knowledge base" link the page just refreshes but the address changes to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx

hmmmm...very interesting...

dobhar and 24jedi,

Instead of clicking on the "Search the Knowledge Base" link, put in your Search topic in the left pane and click the green arrow. This always works for me in Mozilla 1.7, and Netscape 7.1.
