Angry Starup Configuration Warning

My computer crashed and now I cannot get to netscape. I tried to reinstall Netscape 7.1 but it gives me the message of "Configuration warning, An error occurred.....". I tried to fix it by changing the prefs.bak to prefs.js but that did not do the trick... What can I do now... I want to get my Netscape back, and my E-mails...

Please Help.

Did you copy back those Netscape profile files from somewhere like a CD-ROM?
Make sure those files are writable. (context click and check the Properties)

My System

Welcome to the Forum, mnormand!

Hi mnormand,

Your prefs.js file is most likely corrupt. See this page for your solution:
Syntax Error on Startup

It is not uncommon for a crash of your OS to corrupt the prefs.js file.

Post back with any further questions.

Ramona
