Mozilla 1.4 and Mail notification ?

Why won't the mail notification sound work in Mozilla 1.4 Mail? I have the default sound and sound notification checked, but it does not work. When I go to help in Mozilla there are no instructions yet. Is this something that is still being worked on?

It is now working ok. I rechecked the sound notification and rechecked the default notification circle and it is now working ok.

Hi Marvin,

Yes, that seems to be a requirement for Mozilla 1.4 and Netscape 7.1. Preferences often have to be set numerous times in order to be retained.

Ramona, thanks for the info. You are so right. Really like Mozilla 1.4, no hang ups like NS 4.79.

If I decide to go from NS 7.02 to NS 7.1, will I have to do the same as I did for Mozilla 1.4 concerning the resource problem with Win98?

Does Mozilla plan to put in the missing help information at some point. Sometimes when I go to help for certain topics it says that it is not yet available.

Hi Marvin,

You will need to do the memCache setting workaround for Netscape 7.1, as you did for Mozilla 1.4.

Which Help Topics aren't available in 1.4? I am using a 1.5b nightly (8/22) so let me know and I can check to see if the topic has been added.

It's still not included in 1.5b, but that doesn't mean that it won't be. The Notification Help is available in Netscape 7.1 Help & Support Center.
