Does anyone here use MozBackup and if so, do you know what the Central Directory is when the backup for Firefox is being processed?

I checked the MozBackup FAQ's but nothing there.

    Thanks.

Mozbackup is a freeware utility program developed by Pavel Cvrcek in the Czech Republic.

Since it can be used for other programs besides firefox, my assumption is that he uses the term Central Directory to refer generally to the folder where user information is kept.

The backup has a .pcv extension, but it is a standard .zip file. You can make a copy, rename the copy extension to .zip, open it in a different location and see exactly what is being saved. You should see files with names like prefs.js, places.sqlite, key3.db....

The following link will help you find the location of your profile folder and explain the files in it.

In addition to the FAQ's, a .pdf about Mozbackup can be downloaded from here:

antik, thank you for the response. I've printed off your reply and will work on trying to take a look at that file.

I would have thought that Mozbackup would have addressed this on their site.

    Thanks again.
