Resolved Which is the latest SeaMonkey?

Hi all,

A number of months ago, I downloaded SeaMonkey 2.8 but hadn't installed it. I went to see what the latest version was (hoping some things had been fixed/changed) and I saw the new version is 2.15.1.

???????

Are "they" going backwards?

 

When I went to school, 15 was more than 8.

Yes 15 is greater than 8. However, 2.8 is greater than 2.15. Shouldn't it be 2.9 then 3.0, etc,?

 

I don't think so. 2.9 then 2.10 than 2.11 etc. Don't use it, but open it up and look in Help and see if there is an update thing in there. If not, most programs will tell you when you are updating, that you have a newer version and do you want to proceed.
If everybody in the world gave you $2.08 and gave me $2.15, who would be richer?

 

Hi, A Google shows: SeaMonkey Downloads & Releases 2.15.1 as the latest and available in many languages as of January 13th 2013. Neil.

It's 2.8, not 2.08 (I'm still using v. 2.5 [not 2.05]). But I can (finally) see that the next progression would be 2.9, then 2.10, etc.

Well, since there's over 7 billion people in the world, I'll take the $2.08 thankyouverymuch!

 

Yeah but (7 billion * 7 (difference between $2.08 and $2.15) U.S. cents = 490 million U.S. dollars). Heck I might be able to live for a few weeks on that.

I DLed v. 2.16 and I made sure that "update" was checked. It hasn't updated to 2.16.2 yet.

How long does it take to update after a newer version comes out? Any idea?

 

Well, SeaMonkey just updated itself to v. 2.16.2.
