That's why this is puzzling, and I was hoping to get some direction on this. I've found some answers on google that suggest it's caused by indexing services.

The message that this user gets whenever they log in is: "To free up disk space, Outlook Express can compact messages. This may take up to a few minutes." Okay/Cancel -- I have the user cancel.

Here's what I have done:
• services.msc - disabled indexing service, from the original "manual."
• "properties" for C: - unchecked the box for "allow indexing services to..."
• Control Panel > Internet Options > Email : verified that is says "OUTLOOK" and not "OUTLOOK EXPRESS"
• Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, but there was no OE to remove
• Control Panel > Indexing Options, there were originally several Outlook Express entries here, one for each user who had ever logged onto the machine, but I removed them, and the only entry that remains is "Microsoft Office Outlook\[user]", and has remained like that for 2 reboots

Those are the fixes I came across in my searches, but none of those fixes seems to have remedied the problem. It does download from the AT&T Yahoo server, but I don't see (as was in Outlook) any options for importing my T'bird Address, and Mail folders. When someone sends me a link, I can't click on it because I get a pop up that says: "This operation has been cancelled due to restricitons in effect on tihs computer. Please contact your system administrator." So, are these resistrictions an outlook issue or a Windows 7 issue?

How can I fix this so I can click on links in my email and have them open? I've also noticed it won't let me open word documents from the email either. Is this the same issue?

There are no rules that would have diverted or deleted the mail. I have created a new windows and outlook profile, still cannot find the mails.

I recently converted from a cell phone based ISP in Canada(Telus) and I am presently in Florida and am using Embarq as my ISP.

I just established the account and now when I open Windows mail, it tells me Windows Security wants a username & password to log on to popgmail.com

This is new to me and I don't know or can't remember the details if in fact I ever used them, which I haven't.

Any help to get by this problem would be appreciated.
