Problem with Excel and Word 2007 in Vista

When an Excel or Word is opened, it automatically goes into an automatic recovery mode. Then it shuts down. Only option I can see is to re-create the profile and have the user log back in. Already tried the Office repair program. It doesn't work.

Ever since doing my 'clean install' upgrade from XP to Windows 7 and then re-installing Office 2003, both Word and Excel demand that I accept their End-User License Agreement (EULA) every single time I launch the application. Does anyone know how to shut this off?

Acrobat PDF Writer

I have a problem with Acrobat PDF Writer. After instal it works great for a while and then ,for no aparent reason it starts writing every thing as garbage.(see Example).

This has happened on numerous occasions and I have to do MAJOR reconstruction to fix issue. (Manually clean registry , Manually del folders ect ect)
What can be causing this??

I had a program that would, after entering the url, automatically download to a folder - all images on the page while I surfed elsewhere.
You would enter a password also if required.

After last crash - I cannot recall the name.
Anyone have the name(s) of this or other good, free software?

I was wondering if it was possible to have Word automatically send an active document when it was saved. (or on a timed basis, ie. every 3 hours)

If this is not the forum, suggestions on where to go would be appreciated also.

Windows 7 upgrade disabled Adobe CS3 package

While Windows 7 Advisor confirmed the Windows Vista to Windows 7 upgrade has everything fine, the upgrade proceeded. But after the upgrade, Adobe Master Collection CS3 failed to start and require license key activiation again. With the ligitimate and original license key, Adobe Master Collection CS3 still rejected the license key.

I called Adobe hotline and their customer service consultant told me to un-install and re-install the Adobe package from the Windows 7 upgraded computer. After un-installation, Adobe Master Collection CS3 failed to install. Then Adobe customer service considered the case closed! I re-opened the case the they re-close the case, but at the same time open a technical service case for installation failure but with charge.

Even worse, before the Windows 7 upgrade, the harddisk was cloned and use the newly cloned harddisk to do the Windows 7 upgrade. It looks safe, but not. When I put the original harddisk (with Windows Vista) back to the computer, the Adobe Master Collection CS3 (of course it includes the Photoshop, Dreamweaver and etc.) was disabled and asked for activation.

In this case, Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor failed to warn me the Adobe problem and Adobe seemed to take advantage of Windows 7 upgrade attempt to charge existing customer for unreasonable technical support fee.

It happened in Australia, but Adobe customer support was in UK and technical support seems to be in India. Whenever the cost centre (Customer support) makes a mistake (intentional or uninstentional), they refer the customer to their revenue centre (Technical Support in India). This is a really bad business model.

My past experience with Norton was that the Technical Support charged me on Credit Card, gave an random solution that did not work and did not response further (also in India) when I told them that the solution did not work at all. So, I don't want to repeat it again.

Any advice?

Windows 7 - MSWord, page # on doc

I've just purchased a new laptop with Windows 7 installed. I've installed MS OFFICE, 2003 ... and find that when I "insert page number" to a document, what I see on the screen is: {PAGE}. In print "preview", or when printed, the page number is added without problem. Any idea of how I can get the page number to show while the document is still on the computer as a "doc" file? (I've also gone on previously prepared documents, and page # shows up the same, ie, {PAGE}.) Maybe its just a setting I need to change?

[Resolved] transferring files to a new computer

In anticipation of buying a new computer, I'd like some advice as to transferring files to that computer. As a example I want to transfer a game file from my program files. Ive got an external drive so everything in program files can be simply cut and pasted, but what about the registry files?
Is ther any simple programme for doing this?

dell xps Deminsion 2400, xp home,sp3, ms office 2002 c power point 2002, ppviewer 2003 & 2007 installed.
Error message on trying to open pps file:"Power Point viewer 2003, command line option syntax error. Type Command /?for help." I don't know how to do this.

I have tried ppsfix 2 1.zip & pvregfix.exe, & error repair installer.exe but no help.

CCleaner changing my IE 8 homepage?

I have just recently started to use IE 8. After I run CCleaner (not register cleaner), I have to rearrange, add/delete content on my homepage (MSN) to the way I like it. This did not happen when I was using IE 7. IE 8 is the only new thing that I have added to my computer. I have tried to set up CCleaner so that it doesn't remove my MSN cookie. That does not help matters. My OS is Win XP. Any suggestions, please? Thanks.

I have always been using the free software on the internet, eg the defraggles, ccleaner, etc, but when my desktop broke, the guy said that there were thousands of remnants on the PC.

Are there any good programmes on the market that the professionals use?

Incremental backup software?

A friend is looking for software that he can use with an external USB hard drive to do the following:
1. Run automatically every day
2. Run in the background without prompting
3. After the initial backup, make daily incremental additions (or deletions, I guess)
4. I think he wants to backup My Documents mainly, but also Outlook if it's possible.

Is there such software? Personally, I prefer manual backups, but this guy will need something automated.

Suggestions welcomed :-)
