PocoMail4.8 upgrade/install procedure

I have been a user of both Courier and PocoMail v4 and both are installed on my computer. Now I've downloaded Poco4.8 and am getting ready to install.
My instinct is to create a new Poco install instead of overwriting my Poco4 install. As luck would have it, the installer wants to install to the same folder name that Poco4 is installed in - PocoMail4.
I note that the old Poco4 has several sub folders under the main mailbox folder (Mail) each of which contain .mbx files. I'm leery of overwriting the PocoMail4 install.
Should I do this or should I install to a new folder?

Thanks

My guess is that you also have a Pocomail folder in c:\documents&settings\yourname\applicationdata\ That is where Pocomail installed to my pc. there are identical folders under c:\programfiles\pocomail4 but the ones ver 4.8 uses (and I think 4.5 as well) are the ones in the applicationdata folder. If you have the applicationdata folder for Pocomail, you could start your old version and edit and save a message and check the file date to be sure which one is being accessed. when I upgraded from 4.5 to 4.8 there was no loss of data. Of course, to be safe, you could copy the directory elsewhere. basically, I think you'll be okay. The only reason I suggest testing is that I think earlier versions may have stored data in the c:\programfiles\pocomail.

I might repeat something of what David already said above:
You can install over previous PM4 installation.
But you can also install into a different folder and the two can coexist easily.
The thing is they might share same data fodlers, as David pointed above, usually in the Application Data folders. But you can choose different path for data saving during installation, if you wish to keep it separate.

I installed into the same folder as PM4 and it all went off without a hitch or problem at all. Courex also worked as advertised. So I'm off and running with 4.8.
Thanks.
