I'm sad to hear this project was dropped. I've used Calypso/Courier for ages and will probably do so for many more years. The one bug going back to 3.2 that annoys me (and I've reported in the past) is that sending an email while email is downloading corrupts the database and will cause a crash/rebuild. That's annoying since my rebuilds take a few minutes (600M of email).
The latest beta I tried out, and since my mailbox is converted I can't go back to the older version. I'm finding that if the mail server times out while I download email, it'll also cause database corruption. That's even more annoying. In hindsight I wish I had stuck with my more stable prior version, doh.

I'm sorry to hear what happened to ya. It is possible, although not painless, to revert to 3.5. The easiest way is if you have an old backup or the bak file, but chances are the default .bak has already been rewritten with the converted box. You can, however, export your messages from the beta and import them with 3.5, a new installation if need be. I ended up doing this because of stability issues, the non functioning mouse pointer over a link not changing, and the inability to use the preview pane at all. I'd say the Beta had a great effort put into it, but it just doesn't quite measure up to 3.5.
And then learning 3.5 does actually function in Vista if the user persists to try it despite a Vista error message, well, that was just adding insult to injury.
Some would suggest Courex (freeware) to do this, but I found using Courier alone was more simplistic as Courex is made for importing/exporting between Courier and Thunderbird or OE. One great thing about Courex is that it saves the account(s) info (user name, servers, passwords even) in an "accounts.txt" in one of the backup options. This helps immensely if you have multiple accounts and don't remember all of the information by heart. The website should explain it well enough. I had a mild annoyance with the included help file that was likely pure coincidence, but I just feel it's noteworthy to point out that the site also has all the relevant instructions if the program suits your needs.
