Sorry, but it seems you've mentioned the magic number. To my understanding, all Courier versions still have that 2.0GB limit. I clear out mine every so often by copying and then renaming the box file to whatever I want my backup to be named, open it and then pause the accounts so the backup doesn't fetch mail whenever I wish to use it. Then I open the original box file and delete all mails knowing I have a fully functional box file safely storing everything I am deleting. (If you wish to do this, it is worth noting that Courier must be closed to make a copy of the active .box file)
I believe David mentioned a freeware program called courex that makes backing up and restoring easy, but I can't offer much info on it because I never really found a need to use it.
For what it's worth, I believe Courier development wants to remove that size limitation at some point, but I have no idea when that would be.
