My nephew wanted an email client that could be networked in a small home network. What could be better than Courier! So he is trying it. But he is taking Japanese courses, and wants a Japanese character set. Is there a Japanese character set that can be used for Courier?

No, Japanese character are double-byte and Courier does not currently support that. It's something that's on our list of stuff to deal with, but it's not likely that we'll be able to deal with it until a couple of point upgrades into the 4.X series.
