Slow forum response

Thanks Steve.

Thanks Arie, I think you nailed it. I didn't consider cluster size....:-)

Now guys, perhaps you could answer a question about this board, or maybe pass it on to the WebMeister.

WindowsBBS seems to have developed an annoying habit of taking so long to forward my posted replies that I've occasionally stopped the browser and reposted my reply, only to find that my reply has now been duplicated, because it went through the first time. And then, there seems to be no way to delete my duplicated post. My guess is that this new 'foible' of the board's software is tied up with the increased advertising that we're seeing here. Or maybe there's another reason. Whatever it is, it's the only one of several hundred boards that I frequent where this happens.

I suspect that other members may have experienced the same problem, but, like me, haven't bothered to complain. Perhaps this is the board owner's way of nudging us into an ad-free subscription?

Hmm. But this is the only board where this happens.....

Anyway, no BFD, I'll just have to exercise a little patience when posting a reply.

Later: OK, when I posted the above, here's what happened:
The BBS screen disappeared, to be replaced by a basicall empty screen headed by three small ad banners. The status bar showed, 'Transferring data from googleads.g.doubleclick.net.......'
After a minute of this I hit the STOP button, then backspace, then refresh. Voila, there's my last post. As I said, this sequence of events happens on no other board.

My System

Please....

this has nothing to do with your original topic & should have been posted here to start with.

Please go back to the Favorites post to close out & mark as solved.

That's not normal, there are NO adverts showing on the redirect page that is shown when you hit reply on a post.

Make sure you delete all your TIF files & scan for Adware.
