Thumbs up success story thanks to YOU

I just wanted to let you know that this site is the BEST.
I fought a virus/malware/trojan for 2 weeks. Gateway techs charged me $130 and couldn't fix it. McAfee techs were utterly useless - they told me to run a free scan - which just wanted me to buy McAfee. Another "help" site recommended scanning in safe mode (which didn't help).
I DO run McAfee full time. I DO run the firewall. My mistake happened when I used the scroll wheel and got into some pop-up ad which said my computer was infected by a virus.
Hey it LOOKED like an MS ad. It even LOOKED like it was scanning. Duh. I KNEW better. Brain fart time, what can I say?
So... the end result is I was ready to take a sledgehammer to the computer.
...Until I found your page.
Keep in mind that over this 2 week period I'm fighting pop up ads, web pages are freezing, and I'm pulling my hair out. This was hard on an old lady who's worked with computers since the early 1970's. Not only was it frustrating, it was beating the heck out of my ego.
Your web site has been an absolute sanity saver.
I can't say enough good about Spybot S&D. I can't say enough good about ComboFix. All thanks to you (I read your web pages and took NOTES). Spybot located 10 trojans of the Virtumonde family - it took a couple of scans to kill 'em. Third scan came up clean.
One other thing I did... and after getting used to it, I think it's GREAT...
I switched my browser to Mozilla Firebox. Also used their app to block web page ads.
So far, everything seems good.
You always get to hear the people begging for help (not to mention 22,000 lines of logs)....so
I just want to say THANK YOU! You guys ROCK!

My System

My sentiments exactly. I've been hanging around this board since 2000 or maybe even before. The atmosphere is friendly and promotes helping those of us who have problems and our resulting questions. I've gained a wealth of help and knowledge here. Don't contirbute much myself because I'm either too slow or don't know the answer to the problem - but someone always seems to step in with the answers.
