Mission Statement
WindowsBBS is an online community dedicated to easily accessible technical support for those using Microsoft operating systems and other Windows software.
Our goal is to become the leading resource for computer users that require assistance with their day-to-day computer usage, including full support for networking PC's, virus & malware removal, system upgrades and general support questions.
We have implemented an ‘infraction’ system to keep track of some of the mistakes our users make. If you have received an infraction it is usually no big deal (unless it is for the more serious offenses such as insulting other members).
You might wonder why we would give you infraction points for not using a meaningful subject title, or posting the same topic multiple times. The reason is that we are all volunteers here, and our time is put to better use answering questions then to think about a meaningful subject title for your problem or removing duplicate postings.
Also, since there are thousands of users posting here, and multiple staff members, giving out infraction points helps us to track which people don’t bother to ‘play by the rules’.
It is only if you constantly ignore the simple rules that you might lose your posting privileges, so again, no big deal if you got an infraction for a double post or not using a meaningful subject: just don’t continue doing that & you’ll be fine.
You should view an 'infraction' as an administrative measure.
Also note that we normally will not discuss infractions. Feel free to send us a PM about it, but only in rare cases will you receive a reply.
