Hi, If you could give us more info it might help to diagnose your problem. Can you put your 'System Details' in through User CP please.
What is your Burning Media? Did you Rip the music with WMP or another software?
Were you using AV program when your friends used the PC? Neil.

First set up the computer so that it does not restart on system failure ....

Set up the computer so that it does not automatically restart on system failure .....

Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings ....

Under System failure uncheck 'Automatically restart' and under Write debugging information select 'Kernel memory dump' from the dropdown list and OK out.

The computer will now show the BSOD in the event of a System failure giving details of the Stop message and the contents of the memory will be dumped to disk.

Post the error message on the blue screen here.

Run the minidump -c:\docume~1\owneru~1\locals~1\temp\wer4737.dir00\mini052710-03.dmp through BlueScreenView and post the file names highlighted in pink and the name of any file noted in the blue screen as shown on the BlueScreenView page above.

Making Pete's advice little bit easier...

    Download BlueScreenView ((in Zip file)
    No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

    Hi John,

I hope you don't mean you will not be back "if it works ". We like to know and share the total experience. We need the results both "good" and "bad ". Don't leave the final chapter out the your story.....please. Share the final fix that worked for you. Help save future members who will suffer from the same problem.

All the above aside, I'm real curious about this tool "bluescreen view ". I'd like to see how and if it works. :)

I suggest you disconnect the CD-rom drive - remove the power cable and see if the issue remains.

Alternatively in Device Manager right click on the CD-Rom drive and disable it and test.

    You should have ....

Device Manager - click on the + sign next to DVD/CD-ROM drives which will expand to show the model of CD-ROM drive installed.

Right click on that and the small window which opens should have the following options ....

    Update Driver
    Disable
    Uninstall
    ---------
    Scan for hardware changes
    ---------
    Properties

    Click on disable.
