So I gave my nephew my old laptop - I removed the hard drive and installed into a portable drive box (USB) and bought my nephew a new hard drive.

I need to access some files on my old laptop drive but it will not allow me - I see the files but it will nor allow me to change owners. My new laptop is running Windows 7 and my old laptop drive has XP.

So how do I get access to my files?

    Thanks,

Taking Ownership should be all that is needed.
