Just bought a new VISTA laptop to add to my XP Pro desktop. Imagine my horror when with Admin rights Vista won't let me into the Docs & Settings section on my C: drive. What's up with that?. I've made the folder options so that I can access any and all files, but it says I have no access.

    Thanks,
    GPLea

Thanks Westside. I went to that article, and I had already made the changes to Folder Options, but I still have the same permissions problems. Of course, the "brilliant" support from Gateway via India is trying to tell me that I have to run a Restore just because I made some partitions on the drive in my laptop.

    Why couldn't M'soft just leave well-enough alone?

Vista "doesn't use" Documents & Settings. User data is stored at: drive:\Users\username\AppData\*

The test of my link article begins with this:
I am not even going to try to figure out Vista, to which I have had antipathy since day one. Maybe the partitions are causing problems.
